Hi, I'm Anna – your Upbeat Health Coach.
From stuck and frustrated… to strong and inspired
As a kid, I grew up watching my mum struggle with her weight and her health, never knowing what to do, wishing there was something I could do to help. Then, in my early 20s, I unexpectedly found myself facing serious liver health issues — and quickly realised the guidance I needed from my medical team just wasn’t there. I felt confused, unsupported, frustrated… a bit desperate.
That sense of helplessness stayed with me for a while. So I did what I could: I started reading, learning, digging deeper. I discovered how sugar affects the body — especially the liver — and gradually began to change my own habits. At first, it was swapping chocolate for cornflakes and juice for water. Not perfect (cornflakes aren’t exactly the best of swaps), but it was a start.
Over time, my tastes changed and my understanding deepened. These days, I genuinely enjoy 85% dark chocolate (which I used to hate!) and food tastes better all round. More importantly, I’ve seen how powerful habit change can be — and how much it adds up, step by step.
I’ve also learnt how to motivate myself to be active: as a keen amateur triathlete, I've been achieving endurance levels I never believed myself capable of. But I also know from experience that what works for one person may not work for another and that's OK. There is no single "right" path to improving health.
As a professional health coach, I get to help hundreds of people improve their health metrics, boost their energy and reclaim their wellbeing.
